Formerly known by the delightfully unglamorous name "Mother-in-Law's Tongue," thanks to those sharp, upright, sword-like leaves. One of the toughest houseplants on the planet — it survives low light, drought, and outright neglect like it's nothing personal. NASA's Clean Air Study flagged it as an excellent air purifier, and it's one of the few plants that releases oxygen at night instead of during the day, making it an unusually good bedroom roommate.
