Those glossy, waxy leaves aren't polished by hand — the plant naturally produces a shine, like it's perpetually ready for its close-up. Native to drought-prone parts of East Africa, it stores water in thick underground rhizomes, which is why it can survive weeks of total neglect without so much as a wilted leaf. Basically the houseplant equivalent of someone who thrives when you cancel plans. Low light, low water, zero drama.
